Pete Johnson - EVAC Road Runner of the Year & Anglian Schools Cross Country

Just a week after discovering he is currently the second ranked GB M60 over 10 miles this year, Ryston Runner Pete Johnson has received the accolade of  being EVAC  (Eastern Veterans AC) Road Runner of the Year.

Of 69 athletes who took part in at least one of the qualifying events ( 5 miles, 10K, 10 miles) and 12 who completed two, Johnson recorded an Age Graded aggregate score of 86.2%, almost 7% clear of the second placed athlete.

A total of 5 Ryston members placed in the top 12, with Matt Pyatt (M35)  4th,  Jeff Reed (M70) 9th, Carl Manning ( M55) 10th, and Wendy Fisher (W50)11th.

 

Last weekend, Ryston had multiple juniors take part in the Anglian Schools Cross Country Championships. Charlie Wakefield ran a very good race to finish 6th which resulted in a qualification to English School Championships in Nottingham on the 27th of February. Also in his race was Bailey Took (22nd), Mackenzie Pilkington (25th).

Also selected for English Schools was Kate Willis for her performances this year.

Also competing was Annie Rooks who finished 9th in the Under 17 Girls Race. Aylisha Cain finished 26th in the same race.
