At the ECCA National Cross Country Championships Charlie Wakefield, who was running for his joint club Bury Pacers, maintained the form he has shown during the winter to finish a very respecatable 42nd out of 420 runners in the Under 13 Boys Age Group. He ran 13:48 minutes for 3km.

Ryston Runners had two athletes in the Under 13 Girls. Kate Willis was unlucky not to finish in the Top 50, finishing 56th in a time of 15:01 minutes for 3km. Lee Valley Minathon

During the winter, Lee Valley host a minathon series to allow juniors a way of progressing their improving talents during the off season. Last year we had multiple juniors take part of this and found it useful going into the summer season.

This year it was Lily Teasdale turn to have a go at this competition. The three events she took part in was the 60 metres, 60 metres Hurdles and 200 metres. Never hurdled or ran a 200 metres race competively, Lily did brilliant to come away with from Lee Valley with a Bronze Medal. As seen pictured below she was presented the medal from Great Britain sprinter Bianca Williams.

There is a Under 13 & 15 competition on the 27th of March if any parents are looking to get their athletes some competition. More information on this clink this link
