Easter Weekend Results and News

Ryston had a handful of athletes in action over the Easter Weekend, including runners at Trowse, Fakenham and Lee Valley.

Trowse 10K

Ryston Runners had three athletes take part in the Trowse 10km. Callum Stamforth ran well on the demanding course, finishing second with a time of 34:45 minutes. The other two Ryston athletes takin part were Mark Doughty who finished 91st (44:39) & Martin Blackburn 423rd (62:04).

Active Fakenham Town Centre 5k

Ryston also had three people take part in the Active Fakenham Town Centre 5k. John O’Neill was the first home from the club finishing 5th in a time of 18:11. Next was Darren Easter in 10th with a time of 19:20 and then Neil Stapleton was just a few places behind in a time of 19:50.

Lee Valley Under 13 Championships

Lily Teasdale took park in the Lee Valley Under 13 Championships. She took new personal bests in both the hurdles and 200m. The Hurdles personal best was more impressive to fact that she had fell in a hurdles race earlier in the day, was great courage shown by a junior to battle on.

Get into GEAR Training Sessions

- It has been confirmed that the Get into GEAR training sessions have been extended through to April. We have had 50-80 runners attend each of the trainings. Plaudits must go to Rebecca Tuff and Mick Ennis for the success of these sessions. Remaining sessions will be at the same time as the previous ones (Wednesday 7.00pm Lynnsport Track)

- Just to confirm the Wednesday sessions are for the large group session coached by Rebecca only. PLEASE DO NOT turn up to the track to do your own session.

Junior Park Run

It has been confirmed that there is going to be a Junior Park Run in Kings Lynn on Sundays. The main people who have got this started are Emma Honeybone, Mark Doughty and Rachel Duffey. On Saturday the 9th of April at 11am at Lynnsport there will be a kick off meeting which is free for anyone to attend and will Gordon Peason one of the Park Run Ambassadors will be present. Emma has asked if you have any interest in being involved, however big or small if you could get in contact with her. I am sure, like the Saturday Park Run, Ryston will be very supportive in the behind the scenes.

Bank Holiday

There is no track session tomorrow evening. Instead there will be a session at 10am ran by Martin Ive held at Shouldham Warren.
