Manchester Marathon & Friskney Half Marathon

Multiple Ryston Runners took on the longer distances on Sunday the 10th of April at both the Manchester Marthon and Friskney Half Marathon.

Manchester Marathon

Ryston Runners had 9 athletes take part in the Manchester Marathon. There was two athletes who dipped under the 3 hour mark. They were Danny Rock (Second Claim Ryston) and Daniel Guppy. Danny R in his first marathon ran 2:44:38 (52nd), Daniel G ran 2:57:51, which was good enough for automatic qualification into next years London Marathon.

Also booking their spot for London next year was Marcus Hawkins who ran 3:12:08.

The next three Ryston Athletes were very close together, they were Shaun Mann (3:20:43), Simon Levy (3:22:55) & Stewart Robbins (3:23:48).

The other three Ryston Runners taking part were Graeme Leeson (3:35:52), Richard Dickson (3:44:42) & Jeremy Navrady (3:45:17)

Friskney Half Marathon

Ryston had three ladies at the Friskney Half Marathon. And the three of them together won the First Ladies Team Trophy. Lorena Latisaite was the third female home and first in her age group (SW) in a new PB time 1:33:53. Maureen Wolfe (W55) won her age group in a time of 1:46:13 and Pauline Drewery was the third member in the winning team running a time of 1:41:02. Times to be confirmed once results are posted online.  

Other News

- Nic Bensley took part in the Endurance Life Coastal Trial 10K. Battling against hailstones and wilds of Exmoor, Nic ran well to finish 4th and first M45 in a time of 49:34.

- Cath and Pete Duhig took part in a 10Km race in Loc Alcazares, Spain. With Cath finishing 3rd W50+ (63:33) and Pete ran 46:33 to finish 12th in the M50+.
