Sunday 5th of June News

Sunday 5th of June was a busy one for Ryston athletes young and old. Junior track and field team were at Cambridge in the EYAL, whilst senior distance runners were spread around the county with Beat the Tide, Mike Groves 10k and Woodhall Spa 10K

EYAL Cambridge

There were 6 Juniors competing as part of the Team Norfolk squad in the EYAL at Cambridge. Both Mia Moore and Saffron Teasdale had multiple pbs. Mia Moore took over 7 seconds of her 800m time to finish second in a packed race in a time of 2:41.4. She also jumped a new pb in Long Jump of 3.64m.

Saffron Teasdale had a hatrick of pbs, 3.08.4 in the 800m taking 8 seconds of her best, 3.16m in Long Jump and over 12 metres in Discus.

Lily Teasdale sprinted well in the 100, 200 and Hurdles, only slightly of pbs in all 3. Gabriele Kersyte ran a new pb in 200m with a time of 34.1 taking 0.6 seconds of her best. Gabrielle Clare sprinted well in the 100 and Liam Clare sprinted well in the 100m and 200m as well as Long Jumping 3.74m.

Beat the Tide

Multiple Ryston Runners supported the Charity Beat the Tide Beach Run in Hunstanton. Results are limited at the moment but Nicholas Bensley, Richard Dickson and Graeme Leeson finished 1st, 5th and 6th.

Mick Groves 10km

In the Mick Groves 10km Ryston had 5 athletes taking part. Callum Stanforth won the race with a time of 35:11, combining with Callum was Ian Milburn (25th 40:01) and Adam Howard (42:10) who took home the first team prize. Lorena was 4th women home, winning her age group matching Adams time of 42:10. Also running was Christopher Milnes running a time of 52:27.

Woodhall Spa 10K

Matt Pyatt finished second overall out of a field of 1000 finishers in a time of 33:33. Lisa Pyatt finished 221st in a time of 46:08.
