Weekly News Update June 25th & 26th

This weekend was a busy weekend for Ryston Members, with Eastern Track and Field Championships, Marham 10km, Humpty Dumpty 10km and Beachamwell Duathlon.

Eastern Athletics Championships - Cambridge

At the Eastern Athletics Championships in Cambridge on Saturday Kate Willis won the Under 15 Girls 800m and her sister Meg was 4th in the Under 13 Girls 800m.

In the Under 13 Boys Liam Clare had a very successful day, he won the silver in the Hurdles (14.59 PB), Bronze in the Long Jump (3.99m PB) and Bronze in the 100m (14.02 Equalling his PB). His sister Gabby was 1cm shy of her pb in the Long Jump Jumping 3.97m, she also Jumped 8.12m in Triple Jump

Robert MacQueen improved his 300m personal best by 1 second running a time of 45.3 seconds.

Marham 10km

Ryston Runners had a successful day on Sunday at the Marham 10km. The first two athletes home were Warren Armstrong (35 minutes TBC) and Andy Smith (36 minutes TBC).

Winning the Womens race was Mel Reed in a time of 43.30.

When the results are up a full race report will be posted as there were many more Ryston Athletes taking part.

Humpty Dumpty 10km

Ryston had 7 athletes taking part on Sunday at the Humpty Dumpty 10km. The first Ryston home was Adam Matthews in 11th (36:40), next was Pete Johnson who was the first Male 60 (38:51). Others running was Neil Stapleton (40:21), Lorena Latisaite (5th Women 42:34), Martin Blackburn (52:37), Jane Ashby (3rd W65 58:01) and Keith Morris (68:48)

Beachamwell Duathlon

A lot of Ryston Runners took part in the informal ran Duathlon organised by a few Ryston Members. The Duathlon consisted of a 5km Run, 22km Bike Ride (Wissey Half Marathon Course) and a final 5km Run. Completed as either Individuals or as teams.

Malcolm Tuff was the fastest overall. James and Emma Thompson was the fastest team.
