EMAC League Finals Day

On Sunday, we had both the Male and Female Masters Track and Field Teams taking part in the Eastern Masters League Finals Day. The strongest 2 teams from each 4 areas of the East took part in the finals day.

In both the Mens and Womens the teams performed excellently to finish 3rd in both Categories out of the 8 Teams. On top of this Ryston went home with the trophy for the Overall Best Team for the combined score of the Mens and Women’s team.

Stuart Howlett (M50) improved his own club record in the Javelin with a throw of 40.40cm to win the Javelin as well as a pair of 2nd place finishes in 400m (62.1secs) and 100m. David Lane won the (M50) Triple Jump, as well as finishing 2nd in Long Jump and 3rd in 400m Hurdles (80.8secs PB) and High Jump (1.30m). Ian Hogarth was second in the (M35) High Jump (1.55m).

Matt Pyatt had a busy day finishing in Top 3 in all his track events (800m (3rd 2:11 mins) , 1500m (2nd 4:20mins) and 3km (2nd 9:17mins), all three being Season Bests. Pete Johnson was second in M60 3km in a time of 11:10min with Tony Savage just behind in 11:20 (M50). Jeff Reed ran well in the 200m. Paul Harrison came third in the Triple Jump with a seasons best.

Cath Duhig broke the League Record in the 2km Walk (Time to be confirmed). Kelly De-Gol had a very busy and successful day with three 2nd place finishes (100m PB, 200m & Pole Vault) and three 3rd place finishes (Discus (PB), 1500m (PB) and High Jump (1.20m PB)). Marie French won the 3000m and finished 2nd in the 400m. Jane Ashby finished 3rd in her 3km as did Gill Hart in her age groups 200m.

Liz Blakie won her age groups 2km Walk as well as 4th in the 800m. Jo Isbill had three seasons bests (Long Jump, Triple Jump and High Jump). Linda Marshall ran an excellent 800m leg of the relay to make up two places on the last lap.
