Eastern Combine Event Champs and Coltishall Jaguars 10km

Ryston had athletes taking part in the Eastern Combine Event Champs in Peterborough as well as three athletes at Coltishall Jaguars 10km.

Eastern Combine Events Championships – Peterborough 25/09/16

In the Under 20 Women Pentathlon Naomi Darkins came away with the victory in the Eastern Champioships. Gabby Clare taking part in her first ever Pentathlon finished 7th Overall and 4th Norfolk for U17 Women with an overall total of 1352.

Kit Howlett in the Under 13 Boys Minithon where they have to do a Throw, Jump and Run won all three events (800m, Javelin and Long Jump), he was very unlucky to finish second not first in the Eastern Championships and but he also came away with the Silver in the Norfolk Championships. In the same Age Group Liam Clare competed well, coming away with Bronze in the Norfolk Championships (8th Overal).

The other Ryston taking part was David Lane who was 4th in East and 1st in Norfolk in the Mens Pentathlon.


Jaguars 10km 25/09/16.

Ryston had three athletes taking part in the Coltishall Jaguars 10km, running on a windy course with no protection. Jan Manning was the first home out of all the female runners with a time of 45:19 minutes.

Neil Stapleton was second in his age group and 11th overall in a time of 39:21 minutes which was a personal best. Also running a personal best, dipping under 40 for the first time (just) was Gareth Hunt, running a time of 39:59.

Also running was soon to be Ryston member Matthew Allen in a time 36:37 to finish 6th overall (1st Age Group)

- Ryston Member Andy Smith (Younger) took part in the Honnington 10km RAF Champs for Marham on Wednesday and set a new personal best of 35:55 to finish 10th
